One Year Anniversary

Yesterday was the one year anniversary of registering Bura Bura as a business, and I celebrated with a delicious matcha and coconut cake.

Originally starting as a seed of an idea that grew and developed over many years, I'm proud of myself for taking the chance to bring my creative ideas to light and sharing them through my small business. I also feel gratitude towards those who have supported and helped me along the way. I've learnt so much through this process already, and I'm looking forward to continuing to learn and evolve.

It can be challenging working full-time and running a small business. There's often a feeling that there isn't enough time to do everything you want to do, and that can be frustrating. However I'm so glad to be on this journey. I'm happy and relieved to say that sewing and creating still brings me joy and contentment. When turning a hobby into a business you run the risk of sucking all the joy out of it.

So if you've got an idea or are wanting to try something, I encourage you take a leap of faith and give it a go. You never know where it might take you or what you might learn and discover along the way. You don't have to rush, you can take your time walking along the new path you've decided to take, but just make sure that you do take that first step. As Jet says to her niece Antonia in The Book of Magic by Alice Hoffman, "What you wind up regretting aren't the things you do, it's what you don't do that you will never forgive yourself for".

The last twelve months have been wonderful and I'm excited for what the next year will bring. I hope you will continue to join me on this Bura Bura adventure.
