Why the name Bura Bura?

Why the name Bura Bura?

Bura Bura is a Japanese onomatopoeia meaning to have a leisurely time walking around and exploring. In English, we might say 'to have a mosey around'.

Many moons ago I had a blog called Mosey Around X (moseyaroundx.blogspot.com), where I took photos of architecture, neighbourhoods, street art and ghost signs, and wrote about them and their historical context. When I created the blog I had wanted to encourage people to mosey around and see what they discovered by opening their eyes and truly observing what was around them.

The name Bura Bura references these blogging days and mirrors a similar intention of hoping to inspire people to be curious and have their own adventures while appreciating everyday things. Having an adventure doesn’t have to mean going on a grand and expensive holiday, it can be walking around a new neighbourhood and noticing the different buildings and the flowers that are in bloom in gardens, meeting up with friends at a cafe and journaling together, or going to the park and reading a book under your favourite tree. I hope that a Bura Bura wrap cover can be a trusty companion that you take with you on your adventures, whether they be big or small.
